POSTER OF SCARLETT JOHANSSON AS BLACK WIDOW IN "IRON MAN II"

A little bit more than a month before the premiere of "Iron Man II" we have the new movie poster of dangerously curvaceous beauty Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow. How do you like her in the tight costume?
You already know the plot of the sequel: With the world now aware of his dual life as the armored superhero Iron Man, billionaire inventor Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) faces pressure from the government, the press, and the public to share his technology with the military. Unwilling to let go of his invention, Stark, along with Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), and James "Rhodey" Rhodes (Don Cheadle) at his side, must forge new alliances and confront powerful enemies.

STEPHEN DORFF JOINS HENRY CAVILL, FREIDA PINTO, MICKEY ROURKE AND KELLAN LUTZ IN TARSEM'S "WAR OF THE GODS"

New casting news from my favourite upcoming movie. According to "Variety" Stephen Dorff has rounded out the cast of Tarsem Singh's Greek mythology film "War of the Gods" which will start shooting in a few weeks in Canada.
Joining Henry Cavill as Theseus, Mickey Rourke as the ancient Greek king Hyperion, Freida Pinto as the oracle priestess Phaedra and Kellan Lutz as Poseidon, Stephen Dorff will portray Stavros, a master thief who joins Theseus on his quest to help free Greece from the dark threat of the gods.
Tarsem, a director of stunning and breathtaking visual style, has already said that he wants to shoot "War of the Gods" also known as "Dawn of War" the way Caravaggio painted his works, which means a lot of action mixed with Baroque design. The movie is set to premiere on 11.11.2011. (interesting date)!

CATHERINE ZETA JONES IS HOLLYWOOD SPY'S MOST MAGICAL BRUNETTE. NEW POLL - FIRE ANGELS!

I applaud you once again my beloved readers, you have shown impeccable taste choosing Welsh queen Catherine Zeta Jones as our most MAGICAL BRUNETTE with stunning 37% of your 110 votes. The second place with 20% went to Kate Beckinsale, followed by Emily Blunt and Rachel Weisz who shared 13% of your votes.
Catherine Zeta Jones is the magical creature of the kind which hasn't been seen in Hollywood for decades: classic movie diva like those famous actresses from the Golden age of Tinseltown. If you ask me, Catherine is the most beautiful woman on Earth: not only does she have the spellbinding physical beauty, but she has something that only a few other modern actresses have - the deeply profound charisma and aura which simply radiate and glow from her magical presence. Even when some of her movies aren't that good, you still remember her intelligent and highly expressive performances. I just hope she'll get one big role, the role of her career, the role larger than life. We love you Catherine Zeta Jones.

Since we have found the most beautiful blond and brunette in showbiz, let's choose the most seductive redhead. In the following two weeks you can vote as much as you want for one of these FIRE ANGELS: profound angel Toni Collette ("The United States of Tara"), royal angel Marcia Cross ("Desperate Housewives"), fragile angel Ellen Pompeo ("Gray's Anatomy"), sinful angel Christine Hendricks ("Mad Men"), baby angel Emma Stone ("The House Bunny"), sugar angel Isla Fisher ("Confessions of a Shopaholic"), snow angel Bryce Dallas Howard ("Lady in the Water") or icy angel Julianne Moore ("Far From Heaven"). Vote on and make us happy :)

"INDEPENDENCE DAY" TWO AND THREE?

Although for quite a long time Fox wasn't willing to do the sequel to "Independence Day" because the price of at least $20 million which they would have to pay for Will Smith, was too high for the studio, it seems they are now finally moving on with the preproduction. According to IESB.net Will Smith has been locked for not only "Independence Day 2", but also for a third installment. The plan is to shoot both films back-to-back. The shooting could start sometime in 2011.
Directed by Roland Emmerich the first movie earned almost one billion dollars around the world, and was one of the first ginormous blockbusters of the modern age. I just wonder what will the aliens destroy this time, since everybody's favourite target, The White House, was blown into pieces in the legendary scene which made audience clap like mad in cinemas all around the world.

POETS AND MONSTERS IN "THE CASEBOOK OF VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN"

Ah, we'll be seeing yet another Frankenstein tale in the upcoming future. Timur Bekmambetov has signed on to direct the adaptation of Peter Ackroyd's novel "The Casebook of Victor Frankenstein". Here's what the publisher Random House says about the novel:
When two nineteenth-century Oxford students-Victor Frankenstein, a serious researcher, and the poet Percy B. Shelley form an unlikely friendship, the result is a tour de force that could only come from one of the world's most accomplished and prolific authors. This haunting and atmospheric novel opens with a heated discussion, as Shelley challenges the conventionally religious Frankenstein to consider his atheistic notions of creation and life. Afterward, these concepts become an obsession for the young scientist. As Victor begins conducting anatomical experiments to reanimate the dead, he at first uses corpses supplied by the coroner. But these specimens prove imperfect for Victor's purposes. Moving his makeshift laboratory to a deserted pottery factory in Limehouse, he makes contact with the Doomsday men, the resurrectionists, whose grisly methods put Frankenstein in great danger as he works feverishly to bring life to the terrifying creature that will bear his name for eternity.
Apparently some other famous people from that period, such as Godwin, Lord Byron, and Mary Shelley, also appear in the novel, and could appear in the movie as well.

RACHEL WEISZ IN JAMES BOND?

Since young beauties Freida Pinto and Olivia Wilde have refused roles in the latest James Bond film, the producers have found another actress who might play the main vixen in the film. According to "CinemaBlend" Rachel Weisz could be the villain in "James Bond 23":
They're considering Weisz to play the head of Quantum, the secret organization responsible for all the bad guy activity in the last two films. More than just another Bond babe, she'd be the mastermind pulling the strings behind everything that's happened in Daniel Craig's Bond movies so far, and the architect of James Bond's suffering.
The most interesting thing is that the director of the movie will be Sam Mendes, and you all know that he and Rachel were lovers back in the 90's. If you ask me, I've always thought Bond girl roles are degrading to all actresses (career-wise), and I don't remember any of them having any use from it, beside becoming sex symbols, so Rachel definitely doesn't need this job.

ANGELINA JOLIE WANTS TO BE "MALEFICENT"?

HOLLYWOOD SPY has informed you recently that Disney is planning to make a darker version of the "Sleeping Beauty" told from the point of Maleficent, the evil lady who cast the original spell on the sleeping princess. Be honest and admit that the first actress who appeared in your mind for the role was Angelina Jolie :) Well, according to the fresh news from "The Los Angeles Times" Angelina Jolie is actually interested in becoming the fairy tale villain.
The first rumors about "Maleficent" started last year and both Angelina Jolie and director Tim Burton had been linked to the post modern take on this classic. It's still not clear whether Burton will really helm this project, but apparently Angelina is very much interested in being involved in this project. I wonder, if she gets the role, will Brad Pitt play the Sleeping Beauty? :))

"SEX AND THE CITY 2" PREMIERE GETTING CLOSE

Here's one for our dear girls and other fans of "Sex and the City". The sequel to the worldwide blockbuster based on HBO's ultra popular TV show, is close to its premiere on May 27th.
As you know the plot is kept secret but we know that Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha will visit Abu Dhabi (as Carrie says in the trailer - sometimes you just have to get away from boys), where the foursome are said to be meeting up with Samantha Jones' ex-boyfriend Smith. It seems that Carrie will have a surprising encounter there with one of her biggest ex-loves Aiden Shaw. There will be changes in the lives of four girls: Miranda is dreaming of quitting her lawyer job to be a housewife, Samantha is trying to stay youthful and Charlotte is coming to terms with family life. Apparently there will also be a baby (Mister Little?) and a wedding in the movie (probably Stanford's), but no one knows the details.

NEW POSTERS SATURDAY

Weekends are usually boring when it comes to movie news, so I might regale you with four brand new posters for some of the most anticipated films this summer. Finally a good poster for "Robin Hood", glamorous poster for "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time", a group poster for "Iron Man 2" and charming poster for something you probably won't watch unless you are seriously underaged - "Cats and Dogs: the Revenge of Kitty Galore". Click on these two pics to see the posters in their full size.

MICHAEL ROSENBAUM IS "SAVED BY ZEROES"

Do you miss ever so cool Michael Rosenbaum from "Smallville"? Well according to "The Hollywood Reporter" he is developing the half-hour single-camera, live-action comedy "Saved by Zeroes" for Sy Fy. Rosenbaum will also star, together with Jonathan Silverman, in the project based on his personal experiences. The comedy will revolve around two friends, former actors on a science fiction show that has since developed a cult following, who have hit rock bottom and must work together to get their lives back on track.
Through drugs and drinking our characters didn't save money and, years later, the only thing they have left are the conventions, all they've got are their loyal, devoted fans. Our show is not about being in the business, it's about being out of the business - it's the "Non-tourage" We're the losers you want to see back on top, Rosenbaum said.

NEW TRAILER FOR "THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE"

If you are like me and always find Nicolas Cage ridiculous no matter what role he takes, than you can at least watch the new "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" trailer for the amazing special effects and the charming young Jay Baruchel who is getting more and more popular these days. In the movie, Dave (Jay Baruchel) is just an average college student, or so it appears, until the sorcerer Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) recruits him as his reluctant protégé and gives him a crash course in the art and science of magic. As he prepares for a battle against the forces of darkness in modern-day Manhattan, Dave finds it is going to take all of the courage he can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes "The Sorcerer's Apprentice". The cast also includes Monica Bellucci and Alfred Molina, and the movie is out this July.

SECOND TRAILER FOR "THE LAST AIRBENDER"

Here's a brand new trailer for the upcoming fantasy adventure "The Last Airbender" which premieres July 2nd. The trailer reveals some stunning scenes which we haven't seen in the previous trailer, and plus you can see some amazing new fire and waterbending. But I still have a problem with some of the actors: is it just me, or do you also have a feeling that the youngest actor will be the weakest part in the movie?

"KICK-ASS: CREATING THE COMIC, MAKING THE MOVIE" FROM TITAN BOOKS

Now this is a definite must-have for all the fans of the upcoming "Kick-Ass" movie. One of my favourite publishers "Titan Books" has just released a cool new book "Kick-Ass: Creating the Comic, Making the Movie" promoting the long awaited film. This is the essential companion book for the "Kick-Ass" movie based on the bestselling comic book series by Mark Millar (writer of the graphic novel "Wanted", which became a smash-hit movie) and artist John Romita Jr. This luxurious, 180 pages book will be your guide through the film and its making, offering you Millar's early comic book script pages, eye-popping Romita art, including new pages drawn especially for the movie, exclusive contributions and interviews with the cast and crew and hundreds of movie photos, sketches, storyboards and pieces of production art. You can order this cool book over at Titan's website.
As you know "Kick-Ass" follows Dave Lizewski an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan with a few friends, who lives alone with his father. His life is not very difficult and his personal trials not that overwhelming. However, one day he makes the simple decision to become a super-hero, the self-styled vigilante Kick-Ass, even though he has no powers or training. What happens when an ordinary kid in a spandex costume comes face-to-face with the criminal underworld? Starring young Aaron Johnson, Nicolas Cage and Mark Strong, the film is out this April.
You can also check out the new music video with the charming main song from the movie, performed by less charmingMika.

WILL SMITH IN "THE CITY THAT SAILED"

According to "Variety" Will Smith could sail away in the near future. His own production company, "Overbrook Films", has developed "The City That Sailed" for Fox.
Written by sf mastermind Andrew Niccol, the story centers around a street magician in New York who is separated from his young daughter. She moves to London and finds magic candles that make her wishes come true. This causes the island of Manhattan to separate from the continent and it floats toward England, bringing her dad closer to her. So far it's not known whether Will Smith will play a role in the movie or not. We will keep you posted.

KELLAN LUTZ IS POSEIDON IN TARSEM'S "WAR OF THE GODS"

It's becoming rather obvious that Tarsem Sing's upcoming epic adventure "War of the Gods" will be full of beautiful young people in the cast. As "MovieWeb" reports young Kellan Lutz ("The Twilight Saga: Eclipse") has signed on for a role in the film. He will portray the vengeful sea god Poseidon. "War of the Gods" also stars Henry Cavill ("The Tudors") and Freida Pinto.
The story follows Theseus (Cavill) who sets out to defeat the older Greek gods to restore balance to mankind. Pinto will play Phaedra, an oracle who joins Theseus on his quest while Mickey Rourke will play King Hyperion. Tarsem ("The Cell", "The Fall") will give the story his usual directorial touch which means that the movie will be visually breathtaking, stunningly creative and mindblowing. The production starts in April.

"THE UNITED STATES OF TARA" SECOND SEASON BEGINS

If you have missed Toni Collette's legendary performance in "The United States of Tara" for which she won both Emmy and Golden Globe, you can relax, because yesterday we saw the beginning of the second season of the ultra witty dramedy. The second season will be aired each Monday on Showtime. With one husband, two children and four split personalities, Tara will come back in the second season which opens with a bang as the Gregsons' neighbor commits suicide and the family unexpectedly is given responsibility of the house. Now well and dissociation-free for several months, Tara sets out to make new friends with Max's help. Marshall struggles to fit in at school while Kate lands a new job. Nick pops the question to Charmaine.
On the heels of record ratings for its second season debut this Monday, "The United States Of Tara", has just been renewed for a third season as well.
Do you watch "Tara"? I must admit it's one of my top favourite shows to watch on TV.
