GEOFFREY RUSH IN "GREEN LANTERN", LEONARD NIMOY IN "TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON"! DIFFERENT ACTOR IN "SUPERMAN" & "JUSTICE LEAGUE"! JUSTIN BIEBER & ASHTON KUTCHER IN THE SAME FILM?!?

Two of the big upcoming films have got themselves new actors to lend them their voices.  According to "MovieWeb" Geoffrey Rush will thus join GREEN LANTERN (which is currently finishing its visual and 3d effects ready for June premiere) lending his voice to Tomar-Re, a gilled, goldfish-headed creature from the planet of Xudar who is also a scientist working with Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) as an intergalactic member of the Green Lantern Corp. On the other side, Leonard Nimoy, famous Spock from STAR TREK will give his voice to Sentinel Prime, Optimus Prime's predecessor in TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON. Sentinel will be a fire engine in the film's epic end battle.

SHORT HEADLINES According to Zack Snyder, Man of Steel won't be played by the same actor (Henry Cavill) in his SUPERMAN and in the JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA which should come to cinemas in 2013. featuring a bunch of superheroes in one film. *STATIC, will be the first low budget film shot in 3D. Starring Milo Ventimiglia it will focus on a young couple who, after losing their child, decide that they should consider divorce. Their plans change when a supernatural force unknowingly enters their lives. *Cult action film THE TRANSPORTER which was directed by Luc Besson with Jason Statham in the lead role will be made into a 12 episode TV show. *Kyle Chandler could play the lead role in FX's new TV show

POWERS,  which follows two agents in a world of superheroes and supervillains, who work on cases involving people with powers.

Ooooh, I believe all of you will rush to cinemas to watch this one :) If you think the title is crazy - WHAT WOULD KENNY DO, wait till you hear the plot, and then wait till you hear the cast :) The comedy will follow a 17 year old teenager who meets a 30 year old hologram claiming to be the adult version of himself and then the hologram helps guide the teen through his high school. The film which will feature some cutting-edge hologram technology wants Justin Bieber and Ashton Kutcher in the lead roles :)

But the story will be a bit changed: young Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld (TRUE GRIT) will star in the new version in which the Beauty is in her sleep trying to escape the world of dreams. This project has nothing to do with MALEFICENT, another film on the same tale which will focus on Aurora's evil Godmother.
SHORT HEADLINES *Although there were rumors that the production of Brad Pitt's and Michael Forster's WORLD WAR Z was canceled, it will start shooting this summer.

$125 million film will be set in the aftermath of a global zombie infestation ten years down the road. *Ah, I knew my penguins were onto something - hilarious penguins from MADAGASCAR, Skipper, Kowalski, Private and Rico, are getting their own animated film at Dreamworks and the script will be written by MEGAMIND screenwriters. *Although Werner Herzog has already announced  QUEEN OF THE DESERT, an epic drama on Gertrude Bell, a well-known traveler, writer, archaeologist, explorer, cartographer and political attaché for the British Empire at the dawn of the twentieth century, Ridley Scott is now planning to do his own project about her too. But unlike, Herzog who wants weak, cold and expressionless Naomi Watts in the lead, Ridley is searching among the most talented of thespians for his lead actress.

Paramount Pictures is preparing a film adaptation of EARTHSEED, a bestselling book from the 1980's. The story is set in a future where humans are looking to find a new planet to live on. An expedition entitled "Ship" transports genetically engineered teenagers who were born without parents. They are given a simulated Earth environment called Hollow to see if they can survive, although tensions between the groups leads to all-out fighting. Pamela Sargent, the writer of the saga, has recently written two other sequels to the original book. The bad news is that the book will be adapted by one of the TWILIGHT screenwriters.

Ah, this really is quite a silly story, but when you have two stunning young creatures in the cast who cares about silly plot: according to latest rumors Teresa Palmer might join Nicholas Hoult in WARM BODIES,  a film adaptation of the yet to be published book which follows an existentially tormented zombie named R that begins an unlikely friendship with the human girlfriend of one of his victims. The blossoming relationship starts a chain reaction that will transform him, his fellow zombies and maybe the whole lifeless world. Teresa will play the daughter of one of the humans' military leaders who is tired of constantly fighting off zombie attacks.

SHORT HEADLINES *New horror flick that I mentioned earlier I, FRANKEN STEIN has found a director.  Stuart Beattie will helm the story of the town of Darkhaven, where Frankenstein and several other legendary monsters dwell beneath the city's surface, being the city's sole protectors against ghastly creatures and evil beings who want to escape to the surface. *Tim Burton's DARK SHADOWS film adaptation about the crazy monster family has just signed young Thomas McDonell who will play the young version of vampire Barnabas in the cast which already includes Johnny Depp, Eva Green,

Jackie Earle Haley, Michelle Pfeiffer and Helena Bonham Carter.

Here's another upcoming film with not so interesting story but with more than interesting group of great actors. According to "MovieWeb" filmmaker Sheldon Turner will direct dramatic thriller called BY VIRTUE FALLS,  in which the story will revolve around a newly-released ex-convict who seeks revenge upon his mentor who framed him for a crime he didn't commit. Now here's the interesting cast: Eric Bana, James Spader, Ryan Phillippe and lovely Carla Gugino.

The production on PROFESSIONALS which will be a film adaptation of popular British cop show from the 70's is moving

ahead. The story of the film basically revolves around an ex-cop and an ex-soldier from a secret law enforcement division called CI5, who use unconventional, sometimes illegal means to fight crimes that can’t be handled by the police. Now, the interesting and mouth watering part is the cast. According to latest rumors, the producers want the best of British actors, and the names currently included in the list of possible actors to portray the two agents are Gerard Butler, Tom Hardy and Jason Statham, while their boss could be played by Liam Neeson or Gary Oldman.

SHORT HEADLINES It seems a new book from popular writer Neil Gaiman is heading for a film adaptation.  His AMERICAN GODS, the story set in a world populated buy Gods and mythological beings,

will be directed by an unnamed Oscar winning director. *Although we still have to see X-MEN: FIRST CLASS this summer, according to "Empire" the studio is already planning X-MEN 4 and X-MEN 5 which will, unlike the retrospective FIRST CLASS, continue where the 2006 movie has stopped. At the same time, the production is continuing with DEADPOOL too, which will be a reboot of the Deadpool's story we've seen in WOLVERINE, it will be an R-rated comedy, and we shall see Ryan Reynolds both in costume and with Deadpool's cancer scarred face. *Neil Marshall's (CENTURION) new project could be an untitled World War II alien invasion movie for which he is writing a script himself.

One of the animated films we are anxiously expecting in 2012 is Pixar's BRAVE. Although Reese Witherspoon has dropped out of the project, the film is moving on, and you can see some of the lovely concept art pictures from "Entertainment Weekly". Set in the mystical Scottish Highlands, where Merida is the princess of a kingdom ruled by King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson), BRAVE will follow an unruly daughter and

an accomplished archer, Merida, who one day defies a sacred custom of the land and inadvertently brings turmoil to the kingdom. In an attempt to set things right, Merida seeks out an eccentric old Wise Woman (Julie Walters) and is granted an ill-fated wish. Also figuring into Merida's quest, and serving as comic relief, are the kingdom's three lords: the enormous Lord MacGuffin (Kevin McKidd), the surly Lord Macintosh (Craig Ferguson), and the disagreeable Lord Dingwall (Robbie Coltrane).

Young Adult novel DIVERGENT by Veronica Roth is getting a film adaptation. The story is set in a dystopian Chicago, where society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue-Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives.  At her sixteen birthday, the main heroine discovers a growing conflict that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect society.

SHORT HEADLINES *Farelly Brothers are continuing with the casting for their THE THREE STOOGES remake.  Will Sasso has been cast for  Curly, and now the producers are thinking of giving the role of Moe to Hank Azaria and the role of Larry to James Marsden. *Young Justin Bruening is another addition to WONDER WOMAN. Ah, THE HUNGER GAMES casting saga continues. You already know that Jennifer Lawrence got the lead female role in this film adaptation of the bestselling fantasy book. Last week

HOLLYWOOD SPY informed you that talented Josh Hutcherson and gorgeous Hunter Parrish are the lead candidates for the male role of Peeta,  the main companion of the female heroine in the weird world in which teenagers are forced to fight till death in the arena. But beside the two of them there are some new young actors who have appeared at the screen testing yesterday: charismatic Lucas Till (we shall watch him this summer in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS beside Jennifer Lawrence again) has auditioned for Peeta, while Liam Hemsworth (we shall watch him in ARABIAN NIGHTS) has auditioned for the role of Gale,  the best friend of the female heroine.

The production of THE HOBBIT has finally started, most of the cast has been gathered, but as you remember young Saoirse Ronan was also rumored to be a possible member of the cast. If she really joins the Middle Earth saga she might play Itaril,  one of the Silvan Elves and a member of the Woodland King’s Guard. But she will probably have to choose between this role and the bellow mentioned Snow White lead.

As you know, two big Snow White projects are in preparation, and here are some new updates on both of them. According to latest rumors Viggo Mortensen has decided to reject the role in THE SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN, which will have Kristen Stewart in the lead role (which is why I'm not watching the film) and Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen. Apparently, Viggo wanted more money than offered. On the other side Tarsem Singh's THE BROTHERS GRIMM: SNOW WHITE has found its prince. Joining Julia Roberts, who plays the Evil Queen, will be dashing rising star Armie Hammer (SOCIAL NETWORK), while Saoirse Ronan could be his Snow White if she accepts the role.

A few weeks ago, I gave you a long list of young actors (Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylo Kitsch, Kellan Lutz, Tobey Maguire,  Shia LaBeouf) who could take the lead role in THE BOURNE LEGACY (which probably won't have Matt Damon, who apparently isn't happy with being kicked aside by some younger actor), but now there are new names in the game. Actors invited for the screen testing to be held in a few weeks in USA include names such as Luke Evans, Joel Edgerton, Garrett Hedlund and Dominic Cooper. The whole film is coming to cinemas in summer 2012 directed by Tony Gilroy.

SHORT HEADLINES *Breck Eisner will direct BLOOD OF THE INNOCENT, a Victorian horror adventure in which Dracula has a nasty clash with Jack The Ripper on the streets of 19th century London.

The film is based on a comic book. *Talented director Tom Hooper, Academy Award winner this year for THE KING'S SPEECH might do a film adaptation of LES MISERABLES as his next project. The famous Victor Hugo novel could be done in the form of a musical.

And here it is finally, the first trailer for Paul W. S. Anderson's THE THREE MUSKETEERS. With quite a big cast including Logan Lerman, Christoph Waltz, Orlando Bloom, Ray Stevenson, Luke Evans, Matthew Macfadyen, Mads Mikkelsen, Milla Jovovich ... the film premieres this October. In the 3D updated film adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’ classic adventure the hot-headed young D’Artagnan (Logan Lerman)

joins forces with three rogue Musketeers (Matthew MacFadyen, Luke Evans and Ray Stevenson). They must stop the evil Cardinal Richelieu (Christoph Waltz) and face off with lord Buckingham (Orlando Bloom) and the treacherous Milady De Winter (Milla Jovovich).

STUNNING FIRST TRAILER FOR "CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER"! IS EDGAR RAMIREZ A VILLAIN IN "SUPERMAN"? CAPTAIN KIRK GOES ROMANTIC IN "STAR TREK 2"! AMY ADAMS TO JOIN TOM CRUISE IN "ROCK OF AGES"

Although we're not really interested in ROCK OF AGES remake, after the lead role went to Tom Cruise, the musical is, off course, still happening. The musical which centers on two people who meet at the Sunset Strip club "Rock of Ages", fall in love and try to stay together amid '80s rock anthems, already has Cruise, Mary J. Blige and Alec Baldwin in the cast, but now it seems Amy Adams could join them as well. If she gets the role she will be a journalist  who is doing an article on the  rock star Stacee Jaxx (Tom Cruise), and who ends up in bed with him. Since the musical features a lot of pop rock hits from the 80's, if she gets the role, Amy and Tom will sing "I Want To Know What Love Is" by Foreigner in one of the scenes.

SHORT HEADLINES Tea Leoni is coming back to TV, she will have her own sitcom at HBO. Set in the fashion world it will describe a dysfunctional partnership between two women with different approaches to career, family and friendship. *Edgar Ramirez (THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM), who will play Ares in the sequel to the epic adventure WRATH OF TITANS, is now also rumored as a possible villain in Zack Snyder's SUPERMAN, although it has not been revealed yet who will Superman actually fight against. As you know, Snyder has said himself that rumors about Viggo Mortensen playing a villain aren't true. *Chris Pine has revealed today that the STAR TREK II script is finally finished and that Captain Kirk will have a bit of romance and a love interest in the sequel to the mega successful 2009 sf blockbuster.

After we've seen the short Super Bowl teaser, you can now watch the first official long trailer for this summer's CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER. The film will tell the story of young Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) who volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. Dressed in blue costume with his trade mark shield in his hand, Rogers joins forces with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) to wage war on the evil HYDRA organization, led by the villainous Red Skull (Hugo Weaving).  The cast also includes Stanley Tucci, Tommy Lee Jones, Richard Armitage and Dominic Cooper. It is quite shocking how they've made Chris Evans look small and thin before he becomes Captain America.

Doug Liman is moving on with the production of his UNTITLED SF PROJECT which will revolve around a renegade group of former space employees, led by an Eastern European woman, who travel the world, stealing space equipment in an attempt to go back to the moon to acquire an energy source. The last item to steal, or in this case, kidnap, is an ex-NASA employee. According to "MovieWeb" the contenders for the lead female role include Rosario Dawson, Olivia Wilde, Megan Fox and Eva Mendes, while the lead male role could go to Andrew Garfield, Emile Hirsch or Chris Pine who all already met with the director.

Brothers Strause who directed last year's SKYLINE, are preparing quite an interesting epic adventure as their next project. The story of WAR OF THE AGES starts when an ancient artifact is uncovered, time gets shattered and the seven greatest war leaders in history have to battle each other out. According to the directors, it will be a mix of  LORD OF THE RINGS and GLADIATOR in which we shall see Napoleon vs. Julius Caesar vs. Attila the Hun vs. Genghis Khan vs. Alexander vs. Hannibal. And they plan to shoot it as a 3D  sword-and-sandal epic.
