“It was their first time going out,” a source tells Us Weekly. “They’ve been emailing for a while, and she hinted they should get together.
“”She has actually spent time getting to know Garrett,” says the insider. “He’s cute — and he’s into country music! [She] likes that he’s a normal guy.”

So it sounds like there are good possibilities here. Then again, Taylor was also spotted with Chord Overstreet. I think it’s smart for her to just date guys and get to know them, don’t you?

The country singer and the ‘Tron: Legacy’ actor are allegedly getting close after they met up for a low-key date last Friday (01.04.11) in Nashville, where Taylor is currently recording.

A source said: “It was their first time going out. They’ve been emailing for a while, and she hinted they should get together.

“She has actually spent time getting to know Garrett. He’s cute – and he’s into country music! [She] likes that he’s a normal guy.”

The 26-year-old hunk – who also starred in ‘Country Strong’, playing an up and coming country singer – joined Taylor at a restaurant at 8.00pm before returning to his hotel at 12.30am.

The ‘You Belong With Me’ star’s romantic life has been varied of late, with the 21-year-old blonde breaking up with Jake Gyllenhaal last year, before being linked to ‘Glee’ star Chord Overstreet. She has also dated musicians Joe Jonas and Jon Mayer.

Apparently the New Year has been sluggish for record sales overall, as the “Country Strong” soundtrack only sold 28,000 copies despite Gwyneth Paltrow’s hit song.
The Top 10 included, Swift, Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars, “Tron: Legacy,” Eminem, Rihanna, Kanye West, Mumford & Sons, and Jason Aldean.

Taylor Swift, who reportedly enjoyed celebrating Xmas with her mother and brother holidaying in Turks and Caicos, made her way back to Nashville, TN this week to prepare for the new year … sans Jake Gyllenhaal. Now, it’s not yet known if Taylor was able to ring in 2011 with Jakey poo last night but on New Year’s Eve eve she was rollin’ all by her lonesome with one of her BFFs. Look how sad she looks.

Taylor and her female friend grabbed a bite to eat together … but Taylor looked so bummed. Trust me, if I had been hanging out with Jake Gyllenhaal a lot and then suddenly I wasn’t, I’d be inconsolable. I guess we’ll have to see what 2011 has in store for Taylor and Jake. I guess those photos of Taylor Swift lookin’ super sad as she roamed the streets of Nashville, TN last weekend were our first sign that she was Jake Gyllenhalless … poor lamb, I’d be sad, too! Ah well … ’tis better to have loved and lost and all that jazz. At least now Taylor has at least an album’s worth of heartbreak (and an $11k guitar) to write a new album. Jake is a single man, y’all. "I still walk into a nearby grocery store and I still do all those things that anyone at this age would."
Taylor, who is currently dating actor Jake Gyllenhaal, also confesses that while she may not speak her mind all the time, her music gives her a chance to do just that. “I know I don't always say the right thing at the right time or speak up when I should, but I write it all down," she explains.           Christmas baby Taylor Swift is planning a festive-themed birthday party for her 21st celebrations this month.
          The ‘Love Story’ singer, who is reportedly dating actor Jake Gyllenhaal, will have her birthday on December 13, and says she loves celebrating close to Christmas so the limelight is shifted from her. “I love having a Christmas-themed birthday party so people can give each other presents at my party.
      Then it's not so much a spotlight birthday – especially with a 21st where people are like, 'Huh? Huh? What's she gonna do?'” explains the star.
"I didn't want it to be a crazy club thing, I just want it to be very me, and the me thing to do would be to have a Christmas birthday party."
          Taylor Swift has already had an early present with the news her album ‘Speak Now’ has broken sales records in its first week of release.

This includes Kanye West, James Franco, John Hamm, Katy Perry and Ben Affleck.

In an exclusive interview with Taylor Swift, who is alleged to be going out with Jake Gylenhaal, and has formerly romanced stars with Taylor Lautner, as well as Joe Jonas- confessed that she laughs at endless speculation as to which of her past lovers she refers about in her songs.

          She added that she hasn’t confirmed that any song is related to any particular person. She said that there is something kind of liberation about that. She also insisted that as far as she is concerned, it is all still up in the air.

         In the year 2006, Taylor Swift released her first album entitled “Tim McGraw” followed by a self-titled album which turned out to be multi-platinum certified by the Recording Industry Association of America. Then, she was also nominated for the Best New Artist award at 50th Grammy Awards.

Looking cute and casual in all black garb with red kicks, the "Mine" singer grabbed a morning cup of coffee and snack as she readied to hit the studio for work duties.

          “I have always loved how fragrance can shape a memory... the way certain scents remind you of events and people that are imprinted in your thoughts. Lately, I’ve been having fun experimenting with combining some of my favorite scents, so I’m really excited about working with Elizabeth Arden to develop my own unique fragrance.”
